How to Set Up Bleed and Crop Marks for Perfect Prints
Bleed is artwork that extends beyond the finished cut edge. It helps background colours or images continue past the trim line when the product is cut.
Start with the selected product
The File Prep Guide on each Graphix product page is authoritative. Most current products show 0.3 cm bleed, but some products require a different allowance.
Products with different allowances
The Mesh Canvas Frame Wrap currently shows a 2 cm bleed allowance. The Pull Up Banner includes separate background allowances for its sides, top, bottom, and listed frame sizes.
These values serve different production needs, so do not copy the allowance from one product to another.
Crop marks are not a universal requirement
The current online File Prep Guides specify accepted file types, resolution, bleed, and product instructions. They do not state one universal crop-mark rule for every product. Add crop marks only when the selected product instructions or Graphix artwork review specifically requests them.
Final upload checklist
- Confirm the finished width and length in centimetres.
- Check the minimum resolution at the finished size.
- Extend edge-to-edge backgrounds by the bleed shown on the product page.
- Follow any product-specific installation allowance.
- Upload one of the accepted file formats and review the configured item before checkout.
